Ebrary Experiencing Performance Problems

The library is currently experiencing performance problems with ebrary. Problems include extremely long delays during search and opening a book and error messages when trying to go to a specific page within a book. Library IT is currently working with ebrary to solve the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Campus-wide Internet Downtime June 26, 5:30pm

Due to IT maintenance, the internet will be down for all of AUS campus from 5:30pm June 26. The interruption in service is planned to last 1 hour. The Library catalog should continue to be available on campus as will access to mail, iLearn etc, but all databases will not be accessible during that time, so please ensure that your research has been completed before 4:30pm.
Writing Center Closed for Summer

All Library Databases Unavailable May 26

The Library is performing maintenance on it's servers at the moment and connections to the library databases are unavailable. Connectivity should be restored by the afternoon of May 26. Keep watching this space for updates. In the meantime, on-campus users only can get around the problem by removing the "http://ezproxy.aus.edu/login?url=" from the link. Research Help Desk Closed Until June 10

Reduced Library Hours for Spring Break

His Excellency Mohammad Al-Murr gave a fascinating lecture on "Culture in the UAE," sharing his personal experiences of growing up in the UAE in the 1960s and 1970s and the changes that have taken place since. His Excellency Mohammad Al-Murr is chairman of the Dubai Cultural Council and an accomplished author. The AUS Library carries a number of titles by Al-Murr including Dubai Tales, and The Wink of the Mona Lisa.

Getting Started: Using Computing Resources in the Library is an information session designed to help new students navigate the computer system in the library. Topics covered include getting your ID, changing passwords, and managing your network drive.
Sessions will be held in IC2 on February 3, 4, and 5 at 10am - 10:30am and 3pm - 3:30pm.

New to the Library's online database collection is ARTstor Digital Library, offering a collection of approximately 550,000 images and image data in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and social sciences. Users can search and browse content, zoom in on and pan images for greater detail, as well as print or save images. Also included are tools to view, present, and manage images including the "Offline Image Viewer". Registration is not mandatory but is required to use some features.
