Course Reserves
Library or personal material can be placed on reserve at your discretion.
Normally, reserve items can be used for up to two hours and only
within the library. Faculty may specify other reserve conditions
if necessary.
Library books and recordings can be placed on reserve by completing
a reserve
form, or by providing complete details to the library staff.
Reservations for more than 10 items per class will be kept on the
regular shelves and the library circulation system will be set not
to allow borrowing of the specified items. Reservations for
10 or fewer items will be kept at the Circulation/Reserve desk,
and handed to students on request.
NOTE:
- Articles can be placed on reserve by submitting three
photocopies of the article to Maria Tess Chaves - Circulation Supervisor.
- Items which are the personal property of a faculty
member can also be placed on reserve. The library will take
all reasonable measures to safeguard personal reserve items.
- Articles and personal property reserves will be returned
to you at the end of each semester.
- Items placed on reserve must abide by UAE and US copyright
laws.
- For additional information or questions on reserves, please
email mchaves@aus.edu
Streaming Video Reserves
The library now offers a service to enable faculty to make video and DVD segments available to students through iLearn. We will digitize video/DVD content and convert it into a streaming format so that it can be linked to your iLearn course. Please note: material to be digitized must be owned by the library or by the person requesting the digitization. We will not digitize any third-party copies, recordings or transfers, including rentals or personal recordings of television broadcasts. Other copyright restrictions also apply.
To stream video, please fill out a Streaming Reserves Form and submit it to the library Circulation/Reserve desk.
For questions about linking streaming video to iLearn courses, see instructions on http://library.aus.edu/StreamingVideo/ or contact Waleed Alyedin, iLearn administrator, ext. 2148, weldin@aus.edu .
