More Faculty Resources

University of Sharjah Library Resource Sharing

  • AUS faculty members, holding a valid university ID may borrow materials from the University of Sharjah. 
  • Faculty may borrow up to 4 items. 
  • Books are loaned for 30 days and can be renewed once for 2 weeks.
  • Books on loan to are subject to recall.
  • AUS Faculty may only borrow items from the Standard Collection.
  • Renewals can be done over the telephone.  Contact information can be found at: http://www.sharjah.ac.ae/library/
  • Overdue items are subject to fines and the borrower is responsible for any lost or damaged material.

Faculty may also access University of Sharjah electronic resources, such as the IEEE Xplore database package (including conference proceedings). To access electronic resources provide your AUS ID card to the University of Sharjah Women’s College Library.

Preferred Searches

Faculty may easily keep up to date on material acquired by the library by scheduling preferred or custom searches of the library catalog and having the results emailed to the user.

To configure a preferred search, follow these steps:

  1. Go the AUS Library Catalog
  2. Click on View Your record and login with your AUS email username and password
  3. Select "Search Catalog"
  4. Construct search query, i.e., Keyword - "Islam and Politics"
  5. On search result page, click on "Save as Preferred Search" button
  6. Click on Patron record button
  7. Click on Preferred Search button
  8. Check the Mark for Email box to receive email alerts

My Reading History

Saving your Reading History can be useful tool to remember the books that you have checked out from the library. Follow these steps to activate your reading history:

  1. Go the AUS Library Catalog
  2. Click on View Your record and login with your AUS email username and password
  3. Select "My Reading History"
  4. Click on "Opt In"
  5. After this point, library items that you check out will appear in your Reading History for future reference.
