Collections

 

Group Study Rooms

  • located on the 1st floorgroup-study
  • equipped with whiteboards (see circulation desk to check out markers and erasers)
  • power and data for your laptop
  • limited to groups of 2 or more
  • unattended items will be removed
  • advanced reservation only available during finals study periods and exams

IC 1 & IC 2

Media Rooms

  • Reserve a Media Room
  • located on the 1st floorFirst_Floor_media_rooms
  • for viewing DVD/VHS materials
  • 2 hour time limit
  • two Media Rooms are designed for group viewing (4+)
  • four Media Rooms are suitable for individual or small group viewing (2-3)
  • unattended items will be removed
  • all media rooms must be checked out at the Circulation/Reserves Desk

No-Talking Zones

  • located on the 1st and 2nd floorsno-talking-zones
  • these glass-enclosed areas have a strict no noise policy and are patrolled by staff
  • the library has also designated the top floor as a quieter study zone

Presentation Rooms

  • Reserve a Presentation Room
  • located on the 1st floorPresentation-rooms
  • equipped with 55" LED flat screen TVs
  • can be reserved in advance and must be checked out at the Circulation/Reserves Desk
  • 2 hour time limit
  • must not be left unattended
  • unattended items will be removed

Seminar Rooms

  • located on the 2nd floorSecond_Floor_Seminar_rooms
  • may be reserved for faculty or staff for their tutorials or meetings
  • Seminar room 1 limited to 2 occupants (it is in a no talking zone)
  • Seminar rooms can be checked out for 2 hours only (see Circulations/Reserves desk)

  • located on the 1st & 2nd floor of the library in the General and Reference Collections
  • The Arabic collection can be searched in Arabic at any library computer or any Arabic enabled computer - see the Technology Help desk for instructions on how to change library keyboards to type in Arabic

  • AUS Archives is a non-circulating repository for the institutional records of the university

General Collection

  • located on the 2nd floor of the library
  • The General Collection holds the majority of titles in the library
  • Items in the General Collection are circulating items (you can checked them out and take them home)

Leisure Reading Collection

  • located on the 1st floor of the library
  • Popular fiction and non-fiction titles
  • Graphic novels

Media Collection

  • DVD’s, VHS tapes, Music CD’s and Audiotapes
  • This is a circulating collection (you can checked them out and take them home)
  • You can also watch VhS and DVDs in the media rooms

Oversize Collection

  • These are items too large to fit on our regular sized shelves

Periodical Collection

  • Current periodicals are located on the 1st floor of the library
  • Back issues of periodicals are located on the 2nd floor of the library
  • Journals may be borrowed, with the exception of current issues.

  • Reserve the Eikon Station
  • Located adjacent to the Research Help Desk.
  • Eikon covers detailed information on the top companies around the World and in the Middle East. Industry news, macroeconomic reports, country statistics, stock market data as well as specialized databases such as IPO, Sukuk and Private Equity monitors are also included.
