Interlibrary Loan

You can request articles and books not found in the AUS Library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). AUS Library staff will attempt to obtain your items from other libraries in the UAE and around the world.

Who Can Use the ILL Service ?

• The service is available to faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students with permission from their professor.
• Senior Design students should contact the Interlibrary Loan department for assistance: ill@aus.edu.

How to Request Materials

• Log into the ILL User Portal with your AUS credentials. Click on the button "Create Request".
• You may also send requests by email to ill@aus.edu. Be sure to include bibliographic details.
• Before making a request, please check that the materials are not already available in the AUS Library.

How Long Does it Take ?

There are several factors that can influence how quickly the request can be fulfilled or sent from another library. Some delivery time guidelines, and other things to keep in mind:

• Digital copies of articles and book chapters are usually available within 2-3 business days.
• Physical books can take up to 2-3 weeks (sometimes longer) to arrive.
• The request form requires you to specify a "Need By Date," after which the request will be cancelled. Please allow sufficient time for delivery.
• If the estimated delivery times here do not work for you, please contact us ill@aus.edu to discuss alternatives to assist you.
