In response to user requests, the AUS Library is pleased to announce that we have enabled direct login to most of our electronic resources. You can now use your AUS username and password to access resources, even if you have not started your search from WorldCat or the Library website.
We are using an authentication system called Shibboleth that works with AUS's single sign-on (SSO) system to provide access to resources remotely. Your credentials are not shared with the publisher or provider, authentication takes place on AUS systems.
We hope the additional access method will be beneficial for our users. There may be occasions when you find a library resource without using the AUS VPN or the “proxied” link. In these instances, you can login via Shibboleth to gain access.
Shibboleth is designed to work when you’re off-campus and not using the AUS VPN or EZProxy. Not all vendors have Shibboleth authentication set up. Vendors who were able to offer Shibboleth authentication are set up and working. We will continue to monitor and set up Shibboleth authentication for those who support it. For resources not on the list, you can still use a proxied URL from WorldCat or the AUS Library Website.
Here is a list of e-resources with login instructions and direct links for some resources.
