Spring 2025’s AUS Library Ed Talks series launched with a compelling Author Talk by Dr. Vernon Pedersen, History Professor in the Department of International Studies.
His insightful presentation on, "My Life for the Party: Communists and Communism"—explored the sacrifices, struggles, and beliefs of American Communist Party members. From political activism to personal risks, Dr. Pedersen took us through history’s untold stories.
Dr. Vernon’s decades-long research on the people who dedicated their lives to the cause can be explored in-depth through his published books: Post-Cold War revelations and the American Communist Party: citizens, revolutionaries, and spies and The Communist Party on the American waterfront: revolution, reform, and the quest for power, available through the AUS Library.
