Each semester, the library recognizes graduating library student assistants who have worked tirelessly with us to support the AUS community. This semester, we are very pleased to honor four graduating and long-serving students.
During their time with us, our students have worked at the Library Service Desk answering library patron inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, collecting materials from the book drops, checking in and out library materials, conducting library rounds, and contributing to a variety of special projects across various library departments.
As is our tradition, graduating students receive a certificate of appreciation, and for those who have served four or more semesters with us, they also select a library book in which a bookplate is inscribed with their name. Though only a small token, bookplates are a lasting reminder of each student’s contribution to the AUS Library.

Sama Saleh (Finance major)
Sama joined the library team as a student assistant in Fall 2023. In addition to the core duties, she made meaningful contributions throughout her time with us. She provided support for events such as the Sharakah Reading Festival and the FORM conference on Open Research. As she steps into the next chapter of her journey, we send our warmest wishes for a future filled with success, joy, and personal growth.
Sama was honored for having worked with us for over 5 semesters. In keeping with our tradition, she selected the book Pop Finance : Investment Clubs and the New Investor Populism by Brooke Harrington, which now features a bookplate inscribed with her name.
Yusr Mohamed (International Studies major)
Yusr joined the library team as a student assistant in Spring 2024. Beyond her regular duties, she made notable contributions to the library’s events. Yusr provided support for multiple events and activities, including the FORM conference on Open Research, the Sharakah Reading Festival, and the Thesis Writing Boot Camp for Graduate Students. Additionally, she presented at the “General Assembly” orientation session given to all library student assistants and assisted in conducting library tours. As she moves on to new opportunities, we wish her continued success in all her future endeavours.
Yusr was honored for having worked with us for over 4 semesters. Following our tradition, she selected the book 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and Joost Elffers, which now features a bookplate inscribed with her name.

The following graduating student assistants received a certificate of appreciation for their service at the AUS Library:
Gloria Hanna (English Language and Literature major), who worked with us for 3 semesters. In addition to her duties, she has assisted with events such as the Thesis Writing Boot Camp for Graduate Students, AUS Open Day, and AUS Student Employment Fair, which have prompted library student employment. Also, she presented at the “General Assembly” orientation session for all library student assistants.
Oussama Jamal (Computer Science major), joined the library in January 2025 and worked with us for 2 semesters. His role as a student assistant digital content creator has been invaluable as his content supporting the library’s social media and digital display have showcased the library’s resources, strategic initiatives, and engaging personality of the library. His clips for our Author Talks, Love Your Library, UAE Flag Day and Eid Al Etihad celebrations, library’s self-paced artwork tour, mini interviews with students while they study in the library have triggered high engagement on our socials as well as entertainment to our academic community. Oussama’s critical thinking skills, dedication and strong work ethic will carry him far in his future career.
The AUS Library would like to thank our 4 graduating student assistants for their outstanding and longstanding service to the AUS Library. We wish them all the best in their future careers!
