The AUS Library’s annual “Love Your Library” event ran from February 9–12, bringing students, faculty, and staff together for a week full of creativity, fun, and literary inspiration.
One of the week’s highlights was the photobooth on the Library Ground Floor, where attendees captured joyful moments against a sparkling silver tinsel backdrop. Adding a playful twist, the “Blind Date with a Book” display invited readers to explore outside their usual genres, with wrapped books offering only teaser descriptions to spark curiosity.
Another activity was the craft table, where participants designed and made their own bookmarks—a personal keepsake to celebrate their love of reading.
The “Love Letter to the Library” initiative invited community members to share heartfelt messages about what the library means to them. Letters were submitted in a beautifully decorated post-box for a chance to win a special prize.
Throughout the week, the library buzzed with energy as the AUS community came together to celebrate not just books, but also the inspiration, discovery, and connections that make the library such a vibrant space.
Congratulations to Sara Al Jasmi, winner of the “Love Letter to the Library” competition, whose touching words perfectly captured the essence of the celebration:"Dear Library, I love you because you’re always there for me when I need peace as a place to stay."
