Congratulations to one of our Access Services Supervisors, Heba Hussien! She recently completed the American Library Association-Allied Professional Association (ALA-APA) Library Support Staff Certification (LSSC) Program.
During 2021-2024, Heba successfully completed 6 online through the Library Juice Academy platform, covering three core and three elective competency areas: Access Services, Cataloging and Classification, Communication and Teamwork, Foundations of Library Services, Reference and Information Services, and Technology.
Heba recounts that these courses broadened my understanding of various library departments and enhanced my skills as an access services staff member. Each course lasted 6 weeks and included weekly assignments, readings, discussions, and final exams or projects. Throughout this program, Heba gained valuable insights and had the opportunity to network with colleagues from libraries worldwide, exchanging knowledge and experiences.
Heba is grateful for the support of the AUS library management in her professional development, which is reflected in the high level of service we provide to the AUS community.
