AUS Library participates in 3rd annual Sharakah Reading Festival
The AUS Library was thrilled to participate in the 3rd annual Sharakah Reading Festival hosted by the Office of Enrollment Management!
The Sharakah Program invited local high school students from Years 10-13 to the Sharakah Reading Festival 2024 held in the Main Building, AUS.
The festival celebrates reading, literature and creative expression. The library participated in offering a Creative Activities zone for students to color, create origami designs, design bookmarks, take fun photos with our photo booth props, and more!
At the Opening Ceremony, Kara Jones, University Librarian, offered words of wisdom to attendees encouraging them to not only read, but get work experience in a library. The library’s IL Librarian, Rebecca Hastie, coordinated the Creative Activities Zone and served as a judge for the Poetry competition. Our all-star library student assistants interacted and engaged with our guests throughout the day. A big thanks extends to Habiba, Yomna, Tourang, Laiba, and Yusr!
We are pleased to have contributed to this valuable experience for our local high students!
