ScienceDirect Integrated GenAI Tool Trial
Following the successful addition of Scopus AI to our collection in April 2024, we are excited to announce that AUS Library is participating in the trial of the new ScienceDirect integrated GenAI (Generative AI) tool.
We are the first institution to go live with this functionality. Therefore, we encourage all users to take advantage of this opportunity to explore the capabilities of the integrated GenAI tool and contribute feedback that will guide its future enhancements by making use of the in-product feedback channels, such as star ratings and free-text feedback.
Currently in its Alpha phase, the ScienceDirect integrated GenAI tool may evolve throughout the trial period, which is expected to end late December 2024.
Features of the GenAI Tool:
- Enhanced Search:
Provides a fast and efficient approach to information retrieval. Using natural language processing (NLP) capabilities and machine learning algorithms, this tool distills key insights from peer-reviewed content, accelerating the research process.
- Questions and Answers on the Article Page:
This feature aims to help researchers find information faster and more efficiently by providing an at-a-glance view of key questions each article addresses. It includes direct links to relevant content in the full text for easy reference.
The answers provided by GenAI are extracted from peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and abstracts available on ScienceDirect and Scopus, covering at least the last 10 years in all domains of research. This includes 1 million full-text articles and chapters from Life Sciences. ScienceDirect is continuously adding more full-text articles, and we will keep you updated as additional subjects are incorporated.
We hope users find the ScienceDirect integrated GenAI tool beneficial, your participation and feedback are valued.
