Current Pickup and Delivery Options

We have four pickup and delivery options that are available through WorldCat:


1. Pick up at Library Service Desk (requires campus access)

  • Allow one business day for request processing
  • Items not collected will be returned to the shelves after 6 days

2. Deliver to my housing on campus

  • Deliveries take place between Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Delivery drivers cannot accept the return of library materials

3. Deliver to my office on campus

  • Deliveries take place between Mondays and Thursdays, 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Allow one business day for request processing
  • For each requested item, one delivery attempt will be made.
  • Items not successfully delivered will be available for collection from the Service Desk within 6 working days

4. Postal delivery to my UAE address

  • This service is available only to currently registered students, faculty, staff and AUS Alumni residing in the UAE
  • The library will email you to confirm your postal address and confirm dispatch
  • Delivery time will vary depending on Empost (estimated two working days)
  • Circulation and Reserve materials are not available for postal delivery
  • Items will be automatically renewed

How does it work? 

  • Search WorldCat for available print books, DVDs, and music CDs
  • Click on the title of the item you want
  • Click ‘Place Hold’ button
  • Select one of the following options: 
    1. Pick up at Service Desk (requires campus access)
    2. Deliver to my housing on campus 
    3. Deliver to my office on campus
    4. Postal delivery to my UAE address
  • Click ‘Submit’ button
